Empowering legislators to strengthen local action towards sustainable development
The Connecting the Dots website was launched in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly by the Honourable Speaker, Dr. Kodela Siva Prasada Rao on Monday, 28th March, 2016. The website is a one-of-a-kind platform that aims to equip MLAs in Andhra Pradesh to take environmentally sensitive decisions based on key climatic and socio-economic information collected from their respective districts. It further identifies potential climate financing opportunities that can be accessed in order to fund project ideas. It also includes an interactive platform that can be used by the public to connect with the climate champion MLAs. The website has been developed as part of the Connecting the Dots Programme, implemented by Athena Infonomics and the British High Commission.

Cost Effectiveness Study of Climate Change Adaptation Interventions

Climate change has a differential impact on women. Several studies have shown that disaster mortality rates are higher for women than for men owing to differences in the vulnerability of women and men that are the result of socially constructed gender roles. Athena has been commissioned by The United Nations to demonstrate that decisions about climate change investments have consequences for gender equality.

Design of Juba-Nimule Growth Hub Program

Given that South Sudan needs to rebuild its economy from scratch with diversification of exports and ease of doing businesses being the prime factors; TMEA is seeking to contribute to these larger goals by undertaking work along the Nimule-Juba Route. Athena has been commissioned by Trade Mark East Africa to provide an assessment of the Juba-Nimule Corridor and identify key sectors that can be developed to serve this corridor as the growth hub for South Sudan's economic growth and trade.
